Antique Vintage Victorian Edwardian Style Cast Brass Gilt Finger Plate Door Push

Made of a gold coloured brass. (Gilt?). There is some handling wear to the centre of the plate and small discoloured area which can just about be seen in the centre right of photo 3. I have left it as it is because I am unsure of how to clean this type of brass. !
